Spin it. Dye it. Make it.

What we will explore:

  • Spin it.

Have you wondered what it was like to spin yarn? Do you think that it is not possible?

I thought this two years ago. I first tried a wheel and failed. I then tried a drop spindle. It all of a sudden switched. I was able to control my speed, my ability to control my twist and slowly build my continence.

  • Dye it.

Have you been interested in using Natural Dyes from the local resources we have in California? Learning how to dye our fibers is an incredible way of using our local resources, connecting/respecting nature and creating our own magical colors.

I have been playing around with local plants, thinking about our use of water and seeing what happens. Join me for these adventures.

  • Weave a Tapestry.

What do you do with your hand spun and naturally dyed yarn? What can you do with your newly spun yarn that is inconsistent?

Weave it! Love it and appreciate it!
